Holiday Dresses

It's time again for holiday parties! Most call for more formal apparel than usual, which I love. These are my picks for the various festivities of the season.

1. The Family Holiday Party - Family parties require something conservative and demure, but that doesn't mean frumpy. These party dresses are more covered-up, yet still flirty and adorable. I recommend channeling Blair Waldorf when shopping for a family-appropriate dress.

2. Dinner Party with Friends - Keep the look sophisticated, but don't be afraid to have fun. You can look a little sexier, just keep it simple and more grown-up. These dresses are relatively modest, but have interesting details that highlight one body part.

3. New Year's Eve - Here is where you get to let loose and wear something flashy, sexy, or sparkly. Bright colors and short hemlines are more than appropriate for ringing in 2010.

4. The Blowout Holiday Party - For those of you lucky enough to attend a black-tie event, you'll need a gown. If I had an invitation that required such a wonderful form of attire, I would wear one of the following dresses.

With the exception of the J.Crew dress, everything above can be found at either Shopbop.com or Net-a-porter.com.
