Another one!
Scarlett Johansson ALWAYS has the greatest dresses to wear for premieres and events. Here is yet another one to add to her list of beautiful garments she has chosen! Unfortunately, I am not aware of the designer of this one, so please tell me if you know it!

It's that time of year again. Holiday festivities are just around the corner, and who doesn't love to dress up for a party?
Here are some of my favorite picks for dresses that will take you from the office party to cocktails with friends!

Patrick Demarchelier
(CLICK ON PHOTOS TO ENLARGE IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE VIEWING THEM IN THEIR ENTIRETY)
Fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier knows how to work the lens to dramatize pictures through the use of color and lighting.
The vibrant colors of the photo above work together with the photography style to create a fantasy-like image.
The subtle colors and lighting of the wedding scene below make it appear as though the picture is being seen through the lens of a dream.

Reese
Reese Witherspoon has been my favorite actress for a long time now.
I also love that she always looks elegant and modern on the red carpet. She wore this Marchesa gown (also one of my favorite designers!) to the CMAs. Her red lips and nails just create absolute perfection!

Scarlett Johansson
I don't know if she just has a great stylist, or her choices are just especially flattering for her body, but Scarlett Johansson always has the most amazing dresses to wear for public appearances.
A lot of these pictures are quite old, but I picked out a few highlights of her beautiful wardrobe choices. Ryan Reynolds is one lucky man...

Alexander McQueen Fall 2008
Towards the end of the most recent season of Project Runway, the judges stated that Kenley’s wedding dress creation was a replica of an Alexander McQueen dress.
I wasn’t familiar with the dress or collection they were referring to, so I set out to take a look and find it.
Turns out, it was the Fall 2008 collection and I just LOVE IT! This may be a bit of a fashion flashback for some of you but I just couldn’t get enough of the collection and thought I would recap it.
I really like the use of a monochromatic palette in the beginning of the collection, especially since the fabrics are all very different textures.
The collection has a decidedly Gothic feel, but other hues work their way into the mix and the outfits become black and white.
Notice the bird motif that appears on several dresses.
The theme shifts from Gothic-feeling to clothing fit for a royal court. The collection rounds out with bold colors like navy blue and crimson, bringing a light-hearted end to things.

Bridal Collections
In my opinion, wedding gowns are the pinnacle of difficulty in fashion. It is very easy for a wedding gown to look over the top and cheesy.
That said, Monique Lhuillier and Vera Wang always do a beautiful job with their bridal collections.
I love how Monique Lhuillier's dresses tend to have a vintage flair. They seem as though they could be modifications of gowns from the 1950s. I also like the ultra-long, unadorned veils. Below are my two favorite.
Vera Wang is a veteran wedding gown designer, and she did not let us down this season. The grey/taupe/lavender brides maid gown is just dreamy. It is featured below along with my two favorite wedding dresses from her collection
The idea of using a similar style for the bride and brides maid creates unity in the bridal party. However, they are different enough that the bride stands out.
See the brides maid dress and wedding gown below.

Very Exciting News!

Good news! Rochas will be returning with a new designer, Marco Zanini, as its head.
Under Olivier Theyskens, Rochas closed in 2006 due to financial difficulties, but Procter and Gamble has decided to revive the line.
I loved the Rochas line's beautiful evening gowns and cannot wait to see what Zanini has in store for the upcoming seasons! I hope he continues to create the gorgeous silhouette that I've come to associate with the line.

Badgley Mischka Spring '09
I have mixed feelings about Badgley Mischka's Spring 2009 show. It seemed to lack cohesiveness and some of the styles weren't as sophisticated as I would have expected.
However, the items that I did like were absolutely charming.
This white cocktail dress is fluffy and airy, reminiscent of whipped cream.
Yellow is one of my favorite colors for evening wear, and this ruffled column gown fully exemplified its beauty.
A similar style came in black, with a fuller skirt and sparkling top.

Alice in Wonderland
I remember this series of whimsical Annie Leibovitz photos from the December 2003 issue of Vogue, but I recently came across them again.
Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite movies as well as one of my favorite books, so when I saw these pictures I was just delighted!
Natalia Vodianova poses as the fashionable Alice and shares each frame with various designers.
